HANOI, August 27, 2026 — The Vietnamese government will introduce updated administrative penalties for labor-related violations from September 10, 2026, with new fines targeting employers who fail to submit, or submit late, mandatory work notifications.

The new provisions, outlined in Decree No. 88/2026/ND-CP, reflect the authorities' increasing focus on post-approval compliance. While penalties for most work permit and foreign labor violations will remain broadly unchanged, the updated policy establishes new penalties for employers that fail to meet their reporting obligations.
