BRUSSELS, September 2, 2026 — Belgium has increased the consular fee for long‑stay return visas (Type D) to €335, effective September 1, 2026.

The adjustment follows an earlier rise on July 1, 2026, when the handling fee for most long‑stay visa applications was raised from €180 to €250. The new €335 fee applies exclusively to return visas (visa D) — a sub‑category used by individuals who need to re‑enter Belgium after their initial long‑stay visa has expired or been revoked.

Standard long‑stay visas (Type D) for study, work, and family reunification remain at €250.
