Montenegro has joined a growing list of destinations offering simplified entry for UAE residents, announcing a temporary visa waiver for eligible foreign nationals during the 2026 summer season.
The Montenegrin Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the exemption applies to holders of foreign passports who have maintained valid residency in the UAE for at least three consecutive years. Travelers can stay for up to 10 days without a visa.
The visa waiver is available from May 1 to October 1, 2026.
Who Is Eligible?
To qualify for visa-free entry, UAE residents must meet all of the following conditions:

Official Legal Basis
The Montenegrin government enacted this decision under paragraph 2 of Article 14 of the Law on Foreigners. This temporary measure aims to enhance tourism and facilitate travel between Montenegro and the UAE.
Note for UAE Nationals: Citizens of the United Arab Emirates can already enter Montenegro visa-free for up to 90 days under standard visa regulations. This new waiver specifically benefits foreign nationals residing in the UAE whose home countries normally require a visa to enter Montenegro.
