Azerbaijan Opens Visa on Arrival for Formula 1 Grand Prix Ticket Holders

BAKU, September 15, 2026 — Azerbaijan has launched a simplified visa entry procedure for international visitors attending the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, allowing eligible travellers to obtain a visa on arrival at the country's international airports.
The facilitation window runs from 25 August to 30 September 2026, covering the race weekend and extending four days beyond race day.

He also noted that the post-race extension window is deliberate — designed to encourage visitors to travel beyond the capital.
"That is where the lasting value lies for us: turning a three-day motorsport trip into a week in Azerbaijan, and a first-time visitor into a returning one."
Destinations specifically highlighted for post-race travel include Gabala, Shaki and the Absheron peninsula.
