Key Details
The Office of Foreign Labor Certification (OFLC) has announced that it will permanently delete records from its decommissioned legacy Permanent Online System for cases where a final determination was made more than five years ago. This action aligns with OFLC’s records disposition schedule, approved by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
Important Dates & Actions
Decommissioning Date: December 1, 2024 (legacy system shutdown).
Record Accessibility: No longer publicly available.
Deletion Timeline: Starting July 1, 2025, records with final determinations older than five years will be deleted on a rolling basis.
FOIA Request Deadline: Requests must be submitted by June 5, 2025, or records will be permanently lost.
Transition to the FLAG System
The Foreign Labor Application Gateway (FLAG) System has replaced the outdated legacy system. FLAG modernizes foreign labor certification processes, improving efficiency for employers and applicants.
