Cyprus Mandates Medical Examinations for Immigration Permits (Categories A–F) from September 1

NICOSIA, September 3, 2026 — The Cyprus Migration Department has announced that, effective September 1, 2026, all applications for an Immigration Permit under Categories A–F must now include mandatory medical examination results as part of the required supporting documentation.
The new rule applies to all relevant applications submitted on or after September 1, 2026.
New Medical Requirements
All applicants and their dependents must now submit the following medical documents:
Requirement | Details |
Blood Test Results | Original results confirming the applicant and dependents do not suffer from Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV, or Syphilis |
Chest X-Ray | Original chest X-ray for tuberculosis screening, issued in the applicant's country of origin and/or last country of lawful residence |
The required blood tests are for:
Hepatitis B
Hepatitis C
HIV
Syphilis
Certification and Legalisation
All medical documents must be duly certified or legalised, unless a relevant bilateral intergovernmental agreement provides for an exemption from such certification/legalisation requirements.
Exemptions
The submission of medical examinations will not be required again in the following case:
Where the applicant is already a holder of a temporary residence permit in the Republic of Cyprus, under which the required medical examinations have already been submitted and their results are still retained in the relevant administrative file.
